Good evening furries of all ages.
We at Fur Out West have a fantastic announcement to make.
It was always our mantra from day one that we would include every fur in the fandom if it was at all possible, as we know there is a growing and flourishing population of younger furs born of the Zootopia generation.
We can now announce that minors will be 100% welcome as Ruth our treasurer has managed to secure the correct insurance after negotiations through a very helpful broker.
The insurance comes with three stipulations though that under WA law, we have to enforce.
• Those aged 16-18 may attend the con themselves with parental/guardian permission.
• Those aged 15 or younger must have a Parent/Guardian in attendance with them within convention space.
• All under 18’s will have a different colour of convention badge and/or ribbon that clearly identifies them to bar and convention staff that must be worn at all times.
Due the conditions above in regards to under 15’s, we at Fur Out West have come to the decision that we will offer a single parent/guardian ticket price of $40 to any full price ticket registered to a minor as we know that some parents/guardians are not themselves furry…Yet!
Rest assured to the over 18’s, we at Fur Out West are going to ensure that entertainment and panel content will suit all, and therefore certain shows and panels if they are voted for in the upcoming polls will come with a clear MA18 warning upon entrance.
Fur Out West team.
Good evening everyfur.
Firstly, we must apologise for the quietness, but after some negotiations, we at FurOutWest are happy to announce our charity for the inaugural year is the
community’s first choice. Assistance Dogs Australia.
At the moment, we are not sure on exactly what days they will be present, but the scheduling will reveal all closer to the time.
Founded in 1996, Assistance Dogs Australia is a national charity which trains Labradors and Golden Retrievers to help people with disabilities, providing
them with greater freedom and independence.
Assistance Dogs Australia provides a free service to people with disabilities. Our recipients include those born with developmental disabilities like cerebral
palsy and spina bifida, those who acquire debilitating illnesses like multiple sclerosis, and those who have been in tragic accidents and will never walk
We also provide dogs for children with autism, people living with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and are excited to launch a new pilot working with
people living at home with dementia.
Each Assistance Dog takes two years to train and requires an investment of over $30,000 – however, Assistance Dogs are provided to people living with disabilities
free of charge throughout Australia.
As a result of our program, these highly trained dogs allow recipients to have greater mobility, gain confidence and allow them to have higher self-esteem.
Have a good evening all, and keep your eyes peeled for a new poll that will be posted on the weekend…our mascot needs a name!
Good evening everyfur, with the conclusion of our community poll, we are happy to announce our Guests of Honour (yes you read it right, Guests) who for our inaugural convention are Magicdawolfy, Lazy lupe and Lucky Dog Fursuits 🙂
